The symphony was composed in 2008.
The first Movement begins with a long deep, rolling thunder of drums, which symbolize war. A lost trumpet solo emphasizes the atmosphere of severeness and sorrow. Then the sound of a defective musical box starts, hesitating, faltering, tumbling with a great effort. This musical box is a symbol for the destructiveness of war in every respect. Then the sound of trumpets stands for awaking. A short string Pizzicato, still accompanied by rolling thunder in the background, represents the awakening of life after the war.
The second Movement begins with calming string clusters and a flute solo, balm on the wounds after the nightmare of war. A very deep machine sound starts then, while a fresh clarinet part creates a positive atmosphere. Then a deep sound marks a mental return, the consequence of war comes into consciousness and the repair of the musical clock starts.
The third Movement is very percussive, harp, xylophone and several ethnic drums set accents, followed by a trumpet, a clarinet and a Oboe, which are in a dialogue with the rest of the orchestra, sometimes in a cheeky manner like teasing children.
The fourth Movement then finds a forgiving end with calm solo melodies of a flute and clarinet and soothing string clusters.
